How many times have you heard the phrase, "Data is the new Gold"? We see, on a daily basis, how data is helping transform businesses and our society as a whole. And there are no second thoughts on why Data is so very important today. But like Gold, Data needs to be mined, cleansed & polished in order for it to be valuable.
Well, that's what I do for a living. I help businesses tap into this new found gold into valuable insights. I have over a decade of experience working in Design & Development of large scale IT database applications. I live in the Toronto, Canada.

Help move clients from legacy database applications (like Netezza, GreenPlum, Oracle) to Hadoop ecosystem. Technologies Used: Hive, Spark, Scala, Sqoop, Python, IBM Netezza, Greemplum and Oracle.
At BMO, I've worked for 2 different departments - Information Delivery Platform (IDP) & Global Middle Office (GMO). Spent most of the time at IDP, helping build an Enterprise Data Warehouse - specializing in Capital Market's data. Technologies Used: IBM Netezza, SQL Server 2008, Microsoft SSIS, C# and Powershell.
This was probably the shortest contract work I've done yet. Contracted through Adastra Corporation - the assignment was to build a Query generation and execution engine for Finance Business Intelligence (or FBI as we called it). This was the financial dashborad for retail's C level executive useage.
Worked for Information Delivery Platform (IDP), in the department's early days, building the warehouse at a rapid speed which was very crusial for the growth of the department and the demand for the data. Worked to onboard majority of the Capital market's source systems like Calypso, Wall Street, Imagine, Endur, ICI among others. Technologies Used: IBM Netezza, SQL Server 2008, Microsoft SSIS, C# and Powershell.
This was my first job in Canada. Worked as an Oracle DBA and Developer for 10+ Finance Technology applications. Some of the areas included bank’s Fraud Management, Retail (Trading and Non-trading), Regulatory Reporting databases and Enterprise Data Warehouse. Technologies Used: Oracle Exadata, Oracle 10g & 11g databases, CA Erwin, Oracle PL/SQL and Unix Shell Scripting
Through MSat (now Tech Mahindra), worked on a Supply Chain - Sales Planning System for Sony Latin America (SOLA) - where my team was responsible for the design and implementation of various data interfaces and the migration of the historical data. The system was responsible for planning & forcasting the sales of SONY products in Latin America in order to better manage the Supply Chain.
At Accenture, I've worked for 2 different projects - FDEV for Cisco & Computron for Pfizer .
FDEV was the framework which creates a clear view of Cisco customer accounts (how they’re covered/what is sold to them) via the ‘lens’ of Account and Sales Managers.
Computron provided solutions for Pfizer to process; administer; report and access its financial data in an efficient, effective way. 55% of Pfizer’s financials were maintained in Computron with modules specifically in purchasing, A/P, A/R, G/L, and Fixed Assets.
I'm always looking for something fun to work on. If you want to hire me or collaborate on a project, I'll be happy to hear.
